Everyone I know is told through a patriarchal blessing that they are of Ephriam or Manasseh. My patriarchal blessing, however, says I am of the House of Joseph. Dear PLG,
It is normal for patriarchs to specify the lineage of the person through the
particular tribe of the House of Israel. I am told that by far the great
majority of those receiving patriarchal blessings are declared to have come from
either the House of Ephraim or the House of Manasseh. If your patriarch has not
been that specific in your case, you may want to get in touch with him and ask
if it were appropriate for him to further declare your lineage.
