  • Notes
    • Ray was Director of Mission to the Muslims, serving in the Middle East and South Asia.  He had made advanced planning for the work to continue in such an event as this so that the 60-plus missionary families as well as the national evangelists, pastors, and leaders will be able to continue their God-given mission of winning souls to Christ.  Ray founded Mission to the Muslims in 2001 and watched excitedly as both American and foreign missionaries committed to work and live in these closed countries and areas.  Even more exciting was to witness the tens of thousands converting from Islam to Christianity and the hundreds of house churches being established.

He previously served many years in the mission fields of Communist China until being declared "an enemy of the state" and barred from further work there.  He has been arrested several times and once faced a firing squad, but the Lord had more plans for him.

Ray attended San Jose Christian College, the University of Hawaii and did his masters and doctoral studies at the University of Kansas.

He served 14 years active and reserve duty as an Army Intelligence officer in Russia, North and South Korea, and Vietnam.  He also held management positions with Qantas Airways, Circle Air Freight, and Direct Air Transport which facilitated his ability to enter and work in otherwise restricted countries.
